HIRING: PROJECT DIRECTOR – CIVIL | RAIL DEPOTS & TERMINALS

Project: High-Speed Rail Infrastructure

We are seeking an experienced Project Director with a Civil Engineering background to lead the construction and delivery of depot and terminal facilities for a major high-speed rail project in the UAE.

The role requires proven main-contractor leadership, with accountability for construction execution, commercial performance, programme, quality, safety and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead delivery from design coordination and mobilisation through construction, commissioning support and final handover.
  
• Direct civil, structural and building works, including depot workshops, maintenance facilities, operational buildings, yards, utilities and external infrastructure.
  
• Manage project budgets, cash flow, procurement, subcontractors, resources and construction milestones.
  
• Coordinate civil interfaces with track, MEP, rail systems, depot equipment and operational requirements.
  
• Lead client, consultant, JV partner and authority coordination, ensuring timely approvals and resolution of delivery issues.
  
• Oversee contractual obligations, variations, claims, risk mitigation and recovery programmes.
  
• Drive HSE, quality and team performance across all construction activities.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  
• Typically 20+ years of construction experience, including 5+ years as Project Director or equivalent on major rail or infrastructure projects.
  
• Demonstrated delivery of rail depots, maintenance workshops or rail terminal facilities.
  
• Strong main-contractor experience, with direct responsibility for budgets, subcontractors and site execution.
  
• Proven knowledge of civil/structural works, building construction and interfaces with railway systems.
  
• Strong contract administration, commercial management and stakeholder leadership skills.
  
• UAE/GCC experience preferred; high-speed rail experience is an advantage.
  
• PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
