HR Analyst - Hybrid Nashville, Tennessee

How you will make a difference in this role:

The HR Generalist will provide professional human resources support to the Department of General Services (DGS), helping ensure accurate, timely, and consistent delivery of HR services throughout the employee lifecycle. This role will support day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment and hiring, onboarding, personnel transactions, payroll and timekeeping coordination, employee inquiries, and offboarding.

The HR Generalist will work closely with the HR Director, DGs employees, and HR partners to coordinate HR processes, maintain accurate information, and provide responsive customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and able to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive employee information.

The HR Generalist will work in downtown Nashville in Davidson County. This would be a hybrid role, working anywhere between 2-5 days a week in-office.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare, process, review, and track HR transactions, including hires, promotions, transfers, separations, retirements, and other employee or position changes.
  
• Support recruitment activities, including job postings, hiring documentation, interview materials, and coordination with hiring managers and HR partners.
  
• Coordinate new employee onboarding, orientation, required documentation, communications, and follow-up activities.
  
• Maintain accurate employee information, and tracking tools.
  
• Respond to routine employee and manager questions regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, leave, payroll, and other HR programs.
  
• Coordinate employee separations and offboarding activities to support timely and accurate employee transitions.
  
• Assist with HR projects, process improvements, employee communications, and other HR initiatives as assigned.
  
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure HR actions are completed accurately and timely.
  
• Provide responsive, professional customer service to employees, managers, and HR partners.
  
• Perform other related human resources duties as assigned.
  

Requirements:

• Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  
• Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time professional or paraprofessional human resources experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of four years.
