CoreFactor is seeking an experienced accounting consultant on a contract basis in the west end of the GTA.
This position is on-site and will require the successful consultant to be in the office five (5) days per week.
Our client requires temporary, hands-on support during the parallel operation of a Zoho to NetSuite conversion.
The consultant will support day-to-day Finance transaction processing in NetSuite while helping validate the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial and inventory-related activity between the two systems. The engagement is expected to cover the parallel-run period and an initial post-go-live support period as NetSuite becomes the primary system.
The Role
NetSuite Transaction Processing
- Perform day-to-day accounting transactions directly in NetSuite, including accounts payable and accounts receivable activity.
- Enter and process vendor bills, customer invoices, payments, receipts, expenses, credit card transactions, journal entries, and other routine accounting entries.
- Process relevant purchase order and sales-order-related financial transactions.
- Work alongside designated Finance team members to support timely and accurate transaction processing during the parallel run.
Parallel-Run Reconciliation and Validation
- Perform daily or otherwise agreed reconciliation of NetSuite transactions against corresponding activity in Zoho.
- Identify missing, duplicated, incomplete, or incorrectly recorded transactions.
- Validate that transactions are entered consistently and accurately across both systems.
- Conduct cross-checks with other Finance team members so transactional activity can be independently validated.
- Investigate variances and support timely correction of identified issues.
- Validate inventory-related financial transactions, including receipts, shipments, adjustments, transfers, inventory balances, and relevant manufacturing transactions.
- Review key end-to-end flows, including Sales Order → Fulfillment → Invoice → Payment and Purchase Order → Receipt → Vendor Bill → Payment.
- Work with Finance and Operations to identify upstream transactional issues that delay or prevent accurate Finance processing.
- Maintain a reconciliation and exception log documenting discrepancies, assigned owners, required corrective actions, and resolution status.
- Follow up with the appropriate Finance, Operations, or project stakeholders to support timely resolution.
- Escalate material, recurring, or unresolved discrepancies to the designated internal owner.
Period-End Reconciliation
- Support comparison and validation of key balances between Zoho and NetSuite, including:
- Trial balance
- Accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Inventory valuation
- Bank balances
- Revenue and expenses
- Other material accounts identified by Finance
Parallel-Run Completion and Transition
- Document reconciliation results throughout the engagement.
- Support Finance in identifying and resolving outstanding discrepancies before the parallel run concludes.
- Assist Finance in validating that NetSuite transactional activity and key financial balances are producing consistent and reliable results.
- Provide transactional accounting support during the initial period in which NetSuite operates as the primary system.
Key Deliverables
- Accurate and timely entry of assigned accounting transactions in NetSuite.
- Current reconciliation and exception log, with discrepancies, owners, corrective actions, and status documented.
- Regular comparison of Zoho and NetSuite activity, with material variances investigated and escalated.
- Period-end balance comparison and supporting reconciliation documentation.
- Summary of outstanding issues, recurring transaction problems, and unresolved risks at the end of the parallel run.
- Documented support for Finance’s readiness assessment before discontinuing the parallel run.
Requirements
- Strong practical accounting experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and transaction processing.
- Significant hands-on NetSuite experience, including direct transaction entry and reconciliation.
- Strong understanding of core accounting transaction flows and period-end reconciliation.
- Experience investigating discrepancies and working with operational teams to resolve transaction issues.
- Familiarity with inventory accounting and purchasing / order-to-cash processes.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a meaningful volume of transactions accurately.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with Finance, Operations, and project stakeholders.
- Previous experience supporting an ERP implementation, migration, parallel run, or go-live is strongly preferred.
