As a Building Automation Technician, you will be in the field working directly on construction sites or existing buildings. You will participate in construction and modernization projects as well as service missions, including the maintenance and improvement of automation systems. Your role will consist of programming, commissioning, and ensuring the proper operation of systems while providing quality technical support to clients.

Responsibilities

• Program controllers, prepare servers, and create graphical user interfaces for automation systems.
  

• Integrate third-party systems onto master platforms.
  

• Startup and commission automation systems.
  

• Coordinate and follow up with the Project Manager.
  

• Train clients on system operation and maintenance.
  

• Troubleshoot and update existing systems.
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Language: Excellent command of spoken and written French (Mandatory — only fluent French speakers will be considered).
  

• Education: DEC (Diploma of College Studies) in Building Systems Engineering Technology, Industrial Electronics, or Instrumentation & Control.
  

• Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in the construction and building sector. Experience in critical environments (e.g., laboratories) is an asset.
  

• Technical Skills:
  

  • Operation of automation systems (controller networks, device selection, sequences of operation).
    

  • Programming digital controllers and open communication protocols.
    

  • System startup, testing, verification, and preventive maintenance of automated systems.
    

  • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues related to automated systems.
    

• IT Skills: Proficient with computer systems and networking in a Windows environment, as well as Microsoft Office.
  

• Personal Qualities: Ability to work effectively under pressure, with professionalism and excellent communication skills.
  

• Other Requirements: Valid driver's license and availability for occasional out-of-town travel.
