Freelance DTP Art Director – Rollout – Hybrid JHB – R47,000 pm pro rata | From next week Monday 28th for the month

We are looking for an experienced freelance DTP Art Director to support the rollout and adaptation of approved creative work across multiple formats and deliverables.

This is a Johannesburg-based hybrid role operating on a 4:1 model: four days on-site and one day remote per week.

The role is primarily execution-focused and requires someone with excellent layout, production and finished-art skills who can work accurately and efficiently within established creative and brand guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Roll out approved creative concepts across multiple formats, sizes and channels.
  
• Adapt key visuals and campaign assets for digital, social, print and other required applications.
  
• Create accurate, production-ready layouts and finished artwork.
  
• Resize, reformat and version creative assets while maintaining visual consistency.
  
• Apply brand guidelines correctly across all deliverables.
  
• Check typography, alignment, spacing, image quality and technical specifications.
  
• Prepare files for print, digital production and final delivery.
  
• Manage multiple deliverables and revisions within tight deadlines.
  
• Collaborate with creative, client-service and production teams.
  
• Maintain organised working files, naming conventions and version control.
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as a DTP Art Director, Finished Artist or rollout specialist.
  
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  
• Strong typography, layout and production-artwork skills.
  
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies.
  
• Experience rolling out integrated campaigns across multiple formats and channels.
  
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadline pressure.
  
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  
• A portfolio demonstrating relevant rollout, DTP and finished-artwork experience.
  
• Must be based in Johannesburg and available for the hybrid 4:1 working model.
  
• Must provide their own laptop with fully licensed Adobe Creative Cloud software.
