SAP S/4HANA FICO Consultant

Position Overview

We are seeking a strong SAP S/4HANA FICO Functional Consultant to support the Customer SAP Centre of Excellence (CoE) project. The consultant will be responsible for solution implementation, deployment, functional analysis, configuration, testing, integration, and production support across SAP S/4HANA Finance and Procure-to-Pay processes.

Location: Toronto, Canada
Experience Required: 10+ years preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality SAP S/4HANA FICO solution implementations and deployments.
  
• Analyze and assess the functional and technical feasibility of business requirements.
  
• Configure SAP FI/CO modules, including:
  
  • General Ledger (GL)
    
  • Accounts Payable (AP) — primary focus
    
  • Fixed Assets (FA)
    
• Work on change requests and defect resolution across FICO and P2P processes, including SAP Ariba.
  
• Support end-to-end requirements gathering and solution development for:
  
  • SAP Fiori applications
    
  • S/4HANA embedded reporting / Design Studio
    
  • SAP Ariba
    
• Develop functional and technical specifications based on business requirements and Business Analyst inputs.
  
• Perform functional, unit, and regression testing.
  
• Collaborate with the Testing Centre of Excellence to ensure solution quality.
  
• Assist with security role and profile development.
  
• Prepare training materials and deliver end-user training.
  
• Provide estimates and contribute to project timelines and plans.
  
• Work with Project Management to document and communicate risks and issues.
  
• Ensure alignment with customer Agile methodologies, internal standards, and compliance requirements.
  
• Transition projects and enhancements to Operations.
  
• Perform root-cause analysis for persistent or major application issues.
  
• Provide end-user support during warranty, QE, and ME periods.
  
• Support operations through technical configuration, problem analysis, resolution, escalation, and reporting.
  
• Collaborate with internal teams, including data architects, designers, business-to-business teams, BI/reporting, server management, and other technology teams.
  

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Must Have

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  
• 8+ years of overall SAP S/4HANA FICO functional consulting experience.
  
• Strong SAP FICO experience across:
  
  • General Ledger (GL)
    
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
    
  • Fixed Assets (FA)
    
• Strong S/4HANA Accounts Payable (AP) experience is mandatory.
  
• 5+ years of hands-on S/4HANA FICO experience.
  
• At least one completed full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementation or rollout.
  
• Strong knowledge of accounting, controlling, planning, Finance/FICO, and Procure-to-Pay processes.
  
• Strong experience with SAP Ariba and P2P processes.
  
• Strong understanding of S/4HANA Finance architecture and master data concepts.
  
• Experience working with SAP and non-SAP interfaces.
  
• Proven ability to provide technical direction and resolve complex SAP S/4HANA Finance issues.
  
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies.
  
• Experience working with application vendors and integrating vendor applications into existing environments.
  
• Strong experience creating effective solution design documentation and diagrams.
  

Preferred / Asset Skills

• SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA for FICO.
  
• Experience with SAP BTP.
  
• Experience using AI / Generative AI.
  
• SAP MM implementation experience, particularly for SAP Ariba integration.
  
• Understanding of ABAP/CDS, with the ability to review existing code and determine how objects should be enhanced.
  
• Experience working with geographically distributed and third-party teams.
  
• Finance designation such as CGA or CMA.
  
• Knowledge of IFRS 17 regulatory requirements.
  
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Management – Sourcing & Procurement.
  
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Central Finance.
  

Work Requirements

• Location: Toronto, Canada
  
• Occasional work outside normal business hours as part of a global team.
  
• Occasional weekend work may be required to support project delivery and implementations.
