SAP Senior Basis Consultant

We are looking for an experienced SAP Senior Basis Consultant to manage and support SAP landscapes, with strong hands-on expertise in SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA Database, system administration, upgrades, migrations, monitoring, performance tuning, and production support. The consultant will work closely with functional, technical, infrastructure, and client teams to ensure SAP system availability, stability, security, and performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and administer SAP S/4HANA, ECC and HANA environments across DEV, QA and Production landscapes.
  
• Perform SAP installations, upgrades, kernel upgrades, support package implementation, patches and system refreshes.
  
• Lead and execute SAP HANA database administration, including backup/recovery, performance monitoring, troubleshooting and system replication.
  
• Manage SAP system migrations, system copies, client copies and landscape refresh activities.
  
• Configure and manage Transport Management System (TMS) and coordinate transport movements across landscapes.
  
• Monitor SAP systems, background jobs, work processes, dumps, locks, RFCs, interfaces and system logs; proactively resolve issues.
  
• Perform SAP performance analysis, capacity planning and tuning at SAP, HANA/DB and OS levels.
  
• Manage High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) activities, including DR testing and recovery procedures.
  
• Support SAP Fiori, Web Dispatcher, SAP Gateway, SAP Router and other related SAP technical components.
  
• Implement SAP Notes, security patches and technical recommendations from SAP.
  
• Handle SAP incidents, service requests, problem management and root-cause analysis in an ITIL/AMS environment.
  
• Coordinate with SAP, infrastructure, cloud, network and security teams for technical issues and planned activities.
  
• Support technical audits, compliance requirements and maintain SAP Basis documentation and SOPs.
  
• Participate in Go-Live, cutover, upgrade and migration activities and provide technical leadership where required.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of hands-on SAP Basis experience.
  
• Strong experience in SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA administration.
  
• Experience in SAP implementation, upgrade, migration and production support projects.
  
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
  
• Hands-on experience with HANA installation, upgrades, backup/recovery and system replication.
  
• Strong understanding of SAP architecture, system monitoring and performance tuning.
  
• Experience with TMS, system refresh, client administration, SAP Notes and OSS support.
  
• Knowledge of SAP Fiori/Gateway, Web Dispatcher and SAP security is preferred.
  
• Experience with HA/DR, disaster recovery planning and technical troubleshooting.
  
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of critical production issues.
  

Preferred

• SAP Certified Technology Associate / SAP HANA certification.
  
• Experience with SAP Cloud / Azure / AWS environments.
  
• Experience with SAP Solution Manager or SAP Cloud ALM.
  
• Experience in AMS/support environments with SLA-based delivery.
  
• Willingness to participate in on-call / weekend activities during critical deployments or production incidents.
