About the Employer
Our client is an engineering and construction business working across transport, defence and major infrastructure. It combines project delivery expertise with a focus on collaboration, technical improvement and sustainable outcomes.
The Opportunity
Lead signalling installation activities on a Gold Coast rail project, coordinating site and off-site work with the Construction Manager. You will organise crews, plant and materials while managing live-rail access, isolations and possession requirements.
Your Responsibilities
- Direct installation activities against approved drawings, circuit books, work instructions and inspection plans.
- Allocate labour, equipment and materials across work fronts and improve construction sequencing.
- Enforce safe work methods, permits, rail procedures, isolation controls and access conditions.
- Check quality hold points and specifications and participate in audits, briefings and investigations.
- Coordinate with the Project Engineer and Construction Manager to reduce possession durations and escalate delivery risks or interface constraints.
Requirements
Skills, Education and Requirements
- Experience supervising rail signalling installation, preferably in greenfield and/or brownfield projects.
- Technical knowledge of circuit books, signalling documentation and installation methods, including systems such as Microlok and axle counters.
- Experience in a Queensland Rail environment and familiarity with its standards and procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple crews, inspection plans, quality records and rail safety obligations.
- Relevant railway signalling licence or equivalent, strong leadership and communication, and capacity to meet rail medical and safety-critical worker requirements.
