Work Set-up: Work From Home

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm PH Time

Salary: Php 55,000 – Php 65,000

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced architect registered or licensed in the Philippines, with strong interior design and construction documentation skills who can support our client in delivering medical and commercial fit-out projects including medical centers, dental clinics, pathology facilities, pharmacies, offices and retail spaces. The successful candidate will work closely with our Client’s Australian project management team to develop practical designs and prepare accurate, coordinated drawing packages for client review, contractor pricing, approval submissions and construction.

This position requires someone who can take a project brief, existing drawings and marked-up instructions, develop the design, and resolve the details needed to build it. The projects to be handled include new fit-outs within empty tenancies and renovations to existing premises.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR ARCHITECT – MEDICAL & COMMERCIAL FIT-OUTS

Responsibilities as an Architect – Medical & Commercial Fit-Outs:

1. Space Planning and Interior Design

• Develop proposed layouts using client briefs, landlord drawings, existing CAD files, supplied site measurements, photographs and project team instructions.
• Plan functional spaces, including reception and waiting areas, consultation rooms, treatment rooms, dental surgeries, sterilization areas, staffrooms, amenities and storage.
• Consider circulation, furniture, equipment, accessibility and the day-to-day use of each space.
• Develop interior concepts, colour schemes, materials and finishes suited to the client’s brief and project budget.
• Adapt established design concepts across different projects where required.

2. Drafting and Construction Documentation

• Prepare and update drawing packages appropriate to each project, including:
• Existing conditions and demolition plans (where required)
• Proposed floor plans, dimensioned layouts and partition set-out plans.
• Reflected ceiling plans.
• Floor finishes and wall/paint finishes plans.
• Door, hardware, fixtures and finishes schedules.
• Internal elevations, room-specific sections and construction details.
• Electrical, lighting and data location plans showing design intent, coordinated with the relevant consultants.
• Joinery layouts, elevations, sections and detailed design drawings.
• Work within existing project files where available, maintain drawing consistency, and develop additional details where needed.

3. Joinery and Detailed Interior Design

• Design and document reception counters, consultation and treatment room cabinetry, staffroom kitchens, storage units and other built-in joinery.
• Clearly show dimensions, cabinet configurations, materials, finishes, benchtops, splash backs and hardware.
• Coordinate allowances for basins, appliances, medical equipment, cable access, lighting and relevant service connections.
• Prepare project-specific details that allow contractors to understand and price the intended work.
• Review joinery shop drawings against the design brief and highlight discrepancies for the project team.

4. Finishes and Material Selection

• Prepare clear finishes schedules identifying products, colors, finishes, suppliers and application locations.
• Keep finish references consistent across plans, elevations, details and schedules.
• Consider durability, cleaning, maintenance, availability and budget when proposing materials.
• Assist with alternative selections where products are unavailable or exceed the budget.

5. Coordination and Construction Support

• Coordinate drawings with information provided by architectural, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, fire and structural consultants.
• Identify clashes, missing information and inconsistencies, and raise them promptly with the project team.
• Incorporate client, consultant, landlord and certifier comments into revised drawings.
• Apply project requirements under the direction of the Australian team and relevant consultants, referring specialist design and certification matters to them.
• Assist with drawing queries during construction and update documentation from verified site information and approved changes.
• Maintain organized drawing registers, revision records, title blocks and editable project files.

Qualifications as an Architect – Medical & Commercial Fit-Outs:

Software:

• ArchiCAD experience is preferred to align with the client’s existing drafting workflow.
• Candidates should identify their main drafting software, versions used and level of proficiency.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, PDF markup tools and rendering software should also be stated.
• The ability to produce 3D views and visualizations for client presentations would be an advantage

Required Skills and Experience

• Previous work on Australian fit-out projects
• A recognized qualification in architecture. Current registration or a license as an architect in the Philippines.
• Familiarity with the Australian NCC/BCA, Australian Standards and accessibility requirements relevant to fit-out documentation
• Demonstrated experience in medical or commercial fit-out, including interior design and detailed construction documentation.
• Strong understanding of construction detailing, joinery and the coordination of drawings and schedules.
• Ability to interpret existing plans, consultant drawings, sketches and marked-up instructions.
• Good design judgement and the ability to develop and resolve designs from a project brief, supported by hands-on drafting and practical construction detailing.
• Strong attention to dimensions, drawing accuracy, consistency and presentation.
• Clear written and spoken English.
• Ability to manage several drawing packages, meet agreed deadlines and communicate questions or delays early.
• Clear progress updates, organized file sharing and timely responses to project queries.
