Procurement Section Head

The Procurement Section Head is responsible for Lead and oversee the company’s procurement activities, ensuring the effective sourcing and acquisition of goods and services in alignment with business requirements, quality standards, cost objectives, and company policies. The role is responsible for managing procurement operations, vendor relationships, negotiations, and reporting while ensuring efficiency, transparency, and value for the company.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the company’s overall procurement activities, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant sourcing of goods and services.
  

• Develop procurement plans based on business needs and approved budgets, ensuring timely purchasing and alignment with business priorities.
  

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs, quality, and supplier performance.
  

• Manage the end-to-end procurement cycle, including sourcing, supplier evaluation, quotation analysis, negotiation, purchase orders, and delivery follow-up.
  

• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, ensuring an updated supplier database and effective supplier performance management.
  

• Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions.
  

• Monitor procurement spending, supplier performance, and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency.
  

• Prepare and maintain accurate procurement reports and dashboards using Excel to support management decision-making.
  

• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, approval requirements, and documentation standards.
  

• Continuously review and improve procurement processes and workflows to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve reporting accuracy.
  

• Lead and guide the procurement team, ensuring accountability, effective performance, and achievement of departmental objectives.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
  

• 7–10 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably with experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  

• Strong background in managing overall procurement activities within an organization.
  

• Proven experience in vendor management and maintaining supplier/vendor databases.
  

• Strong negotiation and commercial skills with the ability to achieve favorable terms and agreements.
  

• Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly for reporting, data analysis, and procurement tracking.
