General Labour

We are looking for hardworking and reliable General Labourers to join a well-established steel manufacturing and welding company. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably in steel fabrication, metal processing, or welding facilities.

The successful candidate will assist with material handling, metal grinding, cleaning, production support, and general shop duties while maintaining workplace safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist welders, fabricators, and machine operators with daily production activities.
  

• Perform general labour duties in a steel manufacturing and metal fabrication environment.
  

• Handle, move, load, and unload steel materials, metal sheets, pipes, and fabricated components.
  

• Perform metal grinding, deburring, sanding, and cleaning of steel parts.
  

• Remove sharp edges, weld spatter, and excess material using hand and power tools.
  

• Assist with preparing metal components for welding, cutting, and fabrication.
  

• Operate basic hand tools, grinders, drills, and other shop equipment safely.
  

• Sort, organize, and stack finished metal products and raw materials.
  

• Inspect materials for visible defects and report quality concerns.
  

• Assist with packaging and preparing finished products for shipment.
  

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area.
  

• Follow workplace safety procedures and production instructions.
  

• Perform other general manufacturing duties as assigned.
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, steel fabrication, welding, or metalworking environment is required.
  

• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and industrial grinders is preferred.
  

• Basic understanding of steel materials and metal fabrication processes.
  

• Ability to perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced environment.
  

• Comfortable handling heavy steel and metal components.
  

• Ability to read basic measurements and follow production instructions.
  

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  

• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
  

• Basic knowledge of WHMIS and industrial safety procedures is an asset.
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  

• Comfortable standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
  

• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks.
  

• Comfortable working around welding equipment, machinery, and metal fabrication tools.
  

Working Conditions

• Industrial steel manufacturing and welding environment.
  

• Exposure to noise, dust, welding fumes, sparks, and machinery.
  

• Mandatory use of appropriate PPE, including CSA-approved safety boots, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
  

• Full-time, on-site position.
