On behalf of our client, a leading company in the Security Industry, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced HR Manager to work in Nairobi, Kenya.

Job Summary

Our client is seeking an HR Manager to lead the human resource function across a large, distributed security workforce. The ideal candidate must have previously managed HR for a workforce of at least 500–600 employees, preferably in a security services environment. They will develop and implement HR policies, ensure full compliance with Kenyan labor laws, and drive discipline, performance, and employee engagement with a firm approach.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, implement, and review HR policies, procedures, and strategies in line with company objectives and Kenyan labor laws.
  

• Oversee the full employee lifecycle for guards, supervisors, and support staff; recruitment, onboarding, contracts, performance management, discipline, and exit.
  

• Ensure strict compliance with the Employment Act, 2007, and all other relevant Kenyan labor legislation, including statutory deductions, NSSF, SHIF/NHIF, PAYE, and OSHA requirements.
  

• Handle disciplinary and grievance processes firmly, fairly, and consistently, including investigations, hearings, and dismissals.
  

• Manage HR administration for a high-volume, shift-based workforce, including attendance, leave, overtime, and deployment records.
  

• Maintain accurate HR records, personnel files, and HR information systems.
  

• Manage payroll inputs, leave administration, and benefits in coordination with Finance.
  

• Develop and oversee training programs, including guard induction, PSRA licensing compliance, and refresher training.
  

• Drive performance management processes and ensure timely appraisals across all levels.
  

• Manage employee relations, including union matters, CBA negotiations, and dispute resolution.
  

• Prepare HR reports and metrics for management and advise on HR risks.

Requirements

• Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field. CHRP or IHRM membership is an added advantage.
  

• At least 5–7 years of HR experience, with 3+ years in a managerial role.
  

• Proven experience managing HR for a workforce of at least 500–600 employees, preferably in security or a similarly large, shift-based operation.
  

• Strong, in-depth knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and statutory requirements.
  

• Firm, decisive, and principled approach to discipline and policy enforcement.
  

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  

• Ability to work under pressure and handle confidential matters with integrity.
  

• Proficiency in HR information systems and MS Office.
