Data Analyst Assistant

A major financial services provider based in the sector we support is currently struggling with manual reconciliations and stale data that slows their operations. As a Data Analyst Assistant at Tech Pipeline, you will help clear this operational drag. This role is about finding where the numbers stop making sense and helping us rebuild the routing rules to fix them. You will work alongside our senior team to look at the seams where different systems fail to communicate, ensuring that the client's internal processes match the reality of their data. This is a full-time, fully remote position.

What You Will Do

• Scan system logs to identify where data entries are failing or stalling in the pipeline.
• Assist in the manual reconciliation of datasets that have drifted apart over time.
• Update SOPs to reflect new, fixed workflows after we clear a backlog.
• Help document the decision log for each project to track why specific rules were changed.
• Review routing rules in internal systems to ensure they match current business requirements.
• Prepare simple data summaries that highlight where operational drag is most severe for the client.
• Verify that data remains clean during the first month of live operation after a fix is implemented.
• Flag inconsistencies in reporting that suggest a process has started to degrade.

What You Bring

• A basic understanding of how data is structured in spreadsheets or databases, perhaps from a course or personal project.
• Curiosity about how systems break and a desire to see them fixed properly.
• The ability to write clear, plain English notes about technical observations.
• Comfort with repetitive tasks like checking logs or verifying record counts.
• A pragmatic approach to problem solving rather than looking for an abstract solution.
• Willingness to learn how to read system logs and configuration files.
• Reliability in a fully remote environment, where communication happens mostly in writing.
• The ability to follow a runbook accurately while noticing when a step no longer matches reality.
