Mainframe CICS Developer

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe CICS Developer to join our IT Services team. In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain critical transaction processing systems within the CICS environment. This position is essential for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our core business applications. The ideal professional will leverage deep expertise in COBOL, CICS, and related mainframe technologies to drive efficient batch and online processing solutions while providing robust production support.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement CICS transactions utilizing pseudo-conversational programming techniques, including the effective management of COMMAREA and channels/containers.
  
• Develop and maintain BMS maps and handle Message Queue (MQ) operations involving TSQs and TDQs for seamless data exchange.
  
• Execute batch processing tasks and integrate them with online transaction flows to ensure end-to-end system functionality.
  
• Perform comprehensive production support, utilizing tools such as CEDF, Abend-AID, and Fault Analyzer to diagnose and resolve system abends and performance bottlenecks.
  
• Analyze CICS transaction flows, conduct debugging sessions, and optimize system performance to meet service level agreements.
  
• Write and maintain complex COBOL code interacting with DB2 databases, SQL queries, JCL scripts, and VSAM files.
  

Requirements

Requirements:

• Possess 8-10 years of professional work experience in mainframe development, specifically focusing on CICS environments.
  
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in Mainframe COBOL, CICS, DB2, SQL, JCL, and VSAM technologies.
  
• Have hands-on experience with MQ TSQs/TDQs, BMS Maps, and batch processing workflows.
  
• Show expertise in using debugging and analysis tools including CEDF, Abend-AID, and Fault Analyzer for production support.
  
• Be skilled in CICS transaction flow analysis, pseudo-conversational programming, and performance tuning.
  
• Hold a salary expectation of ₹20 LPA aligned with the industry standards for this level of expertise.
