Specialist, Technical Materials Procurement

Role Summary:

The Specialist, Technical Materials Procurement responsible for sourcing and procuring Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) MRO materials to support plant operations and maintenance requirements. Acts as the procurement focal point for Warehouse, Maintenance, Planning and other plant end users, coordinating and consolidating their material requirements and providing procurement support throughout the purchasing cycle.  Ensures the timely availability of materials while maintaining cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance with company procurement policies. Develops category sourcing strategies, establishes long-term agreements and contracts, manages supplier relationships, and expedites critical purchase orders and shipments. Provides regular status updates to end users and coordinates with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery and support business continuity. Also supports other material categories as required to achieve departmental and organizational objectives. 

Roles & Responsibilities: 

1. Manage procurement of Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) MRO materials to support operational and business requirements.  
2. Develop and execute sourcing strategies, increase contract coverage, and manage long-term agreements to ensure cost-effective and reliable supply. 
3. Conduct RFQs, commercial evaluations, negotiations, supplier selection, and contract administration in compliance with company policies. 
4. Collaborate with end users and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide effective procurement solutions.  
5. Expedite purchase orders and shipments, monitor delivery performance, and provide timely status updates to stakeholders.  
6. Coordinate with suppliers, logistics, warehouse, finance, and end users to resolve supply, delivery, invoicing, and payment-related issues.  
7. Support procurement data quality and PO cleansing activities to ensure accurate records and reporting.  
8. Follow up on supplier invoices and work closely with Finance to facilitate timely payment processing.  
9. Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement in quality, service, and delivery. 
10. Identify and implement cost-saving, standardization, inventory optimization, and value improvement initiatives.  
11. Expand the supplier base, promote local content opportunities, and develop alternative sourcing channels to enhance competition and supply resilience.  
12. Reduce supply dependency risks through multi-sourcing strategies and supplier development initiatives for critical materials.  
13. Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and supply risks, implementing mitigation plans where required.  
14. Provide procurement support for other material categories and special assignments as needed to meet departmental objectives.  
15. Ensure compliance with procurement governance, ethical standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. 

Education & Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Industrial) or Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline. 

Experience:

Minimum 4 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably within industrial, manufacturing, petrochemical, or MRO environments.
