Reporting Specialist

We are currently working with a major French industrial partner to ensure their reporting environments provide the clarity their leadership needs. This work is about moving past implementation theatre and getting back to accurate data that reflects the reality of the business.

About the role
As a Reporting Specialist, you will help our team deliver high-quality, fixed-price projects. You will support the configuration of systems that manage the monthly close, consolidation, and internal reporting cycles. This is an entry level position designed for someone who enjoys the logic of finance and the technical structure of data. You will work in a fully remote environment, collaborating with consultants to build documentation and systems that stay fixed long after our engagement ends. The role is focused on ensuring that data flows correctly from the source to the final report, helping our clients avoid the common pitfalls of poorly configured enterprise tools.

What you will do

• Update and maintain data dictionaries to ensure every metric is clearly defined across the reporting suite.
• Assist in the configuration of consolidation rules within EPM environments to support the month end close process.
• Draft technical documentation and administrator guides so clients can become self-sufficient after project handoff.
• Help perform remediation tasks on existing reports that are showing inconsistencies or errors.
• Map data from source systems to reporting platforms, checking for accuracy at each step of the process.
• Test system updates to ensure that changes in the chart of accounts do not break existing financial reports.
• Prepare training materials for client finance teams to help them navigate their new technical tools.
• Monitor data quality within the reporting layer to identify potential issues before they reach the executive dashboard.

What we are looking for

• A foundational understanding of accounting principles, including how a chart of accounts and balance sheets function.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically using functions to organize and analyze large sets of financial information.
• Basic familiarity with SQL or a strong interest in learning how to query relational databases.
• A habit of technical precision, where you double check your work for small errors before submission.
• The ability to explain complex technical steps in plain, written English for documentation purposes.
• An interest in how data flows from an ERP system into a management reporting tool.
• Comfort working in a fully remote setting where communication happens primarily through video calls and written updates.
• A pragmatic approach to problem solving that favors simple, working solutions over unnecessary complexity.

Bonus points

• Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools from academic projects or internships.
• Exposure to Oracle EPM or SAP BPC through university coursework or previous professional roles.
• Basic knowledge of Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse platforms.
