Senior Product Owner

Are you a Senior Product Owner who thrives on turning customer needs and business strategy into exceptional digital products?

We’re looking for an experienced Product Owner II to join an agile environment where you’ll take ownership of product backlogs, drive prioritisation, shape customer experiences, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-value digital products.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Own and continuously refine the product and team backlog, ensuring user stories are clearly defined, prioritised and supported by strong acceptance criteria.
• Translate business strategy, customer needs and product vision into actionable product requirements and user stories.
• Provide clear direction to agile development teams, ensuring priorities, objectives and expected outcomes are understood.
• Prioritise features and enhancements based on customer value, business priorities and commercial impact.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Business Owners, developers, stakeholders and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, ART Syncs, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos and Inspect & Adapt sessions.
• Track progress against product and release objectives and communicate progress, risks and dependencies to key stakeholders.
• Drive digital and mobile omnichannel customer engagement, ensuring a consistent and seamless experience across digital touchpoints.
• Use customer insights, analytics and market feedback to identify opportunities for product optimisation, customer acquisition, retention and conversion.
• Champion customer-first product design and advocate for features that create meaningful customer value.
• Support integrated reporting, feedback and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.
• Help remove roadblocks, manage stakeholder expectations and keep teams aligned behind the product vision.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• A Degree in Business, IT, Engineering, Marketing or a related field.
• Certified Product Owner / SAFe Product Owner certification.
• 4+ years' experience as a Product Owner within an agile environment.
• Proven experience launching and enhancing consumer-facing digital products.
• Strong experience translating business strategy, customer requirements and analysis into successful products.
• Experience working across multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
• Strong understanding of analytics and big data.
• Commercial experience within a digital-led business development environment.
• Experience with customer, user and loyalty journeys.
• Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including POPIA and electronic communications/information legislation.
• Exposure to retail, marketing or consumer-focused environments will be advantageous.
• Exposure to the African digital market and customer landscape will be advantageous.
