Company Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Low Voltage Systems to lead the successful delivery of commercial technology and low-voltage projects throughout the Sarasota/Tampa market.

This position is responsible for managing projects from turnover through final acceptance and warranty hand off, with ownership of scope, schedule, budget, project financials, procurement, subcontractors, field crews, documentation, quality, and client communication.

Our projects include commercial video surveillance (CCTV/IP), access control, intrusion detection, structured cabling, and audiovisual (AV) systems.

The ideal candidate is a construction-minded project manager who can confidently manage both the business and technical sides of a project, communicate effectively with general contractors and owners, and identify problems before they become schedule or margin issues.

Core Responsibilities

Project Execution & Scheduling

  • Own assigned projects from project turnover through final acceptance and warranty hand off.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, coordinating with GC schedules, other trades, and long-lead equipment.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings with sales and estimating to confirm scope, budget, labor hours, exclusions, and bid assumptions.
  • Attend OAC, coordination, pre-construction, and progress meetings.
  • Represent the company professionally during job site walks, inspections, and project reviews.
  • Coordinate installation crews and subcontractors, sequencing work around ceiling close-in, drywall, electrical power, network readiness, and other critical dependencies.
  • Manage material procurement, equipment staging, RMAs, and job site deliveries.
  • Identify schedule risks and develop corrective actions before they impact project completion.

Financial Management & Change Orders

  • Own project P&L and monitor labor, material costs, committed costs, and gross margin against the original estimate.
  • Track labor hours and productivity and address variances proactively.
  • Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and unforeseen conditions early.
  • Prepare, submit, negotiate, and track change orders through approval before proceeding with additional work.
  • Prepare monthly pay applications, including AIA G702/G703 documentation as required.
  • Support WIP reporting, forecasting, and project financial reviews.
  • Review subcontractor invoices, vendor purchase orders, and field expenses for accuracy and compliance with project budgets.
  • Forecast cost-to-complete and proactively escalate potential margin erosion to leadership.

Project Documentation & Reporting

  • Administer project documentation in Procore, including RFIs, submittals, drawings, daily logs, meeting minutes, photos, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
  • Produce weekly project status reports for internal leadership and provide clear client-facing progress updates.
  • Maintain accurate as-built documentation, device schedules, IP schemas, riser diagrams, and other project records.
  • Coordinate permit documentation, AHJ inspections, testing records, and code-compliance documentation.
  • Assemble complete closeout packages, including O&M manuals, warranty documentation, training records, as-builts, and system credential hand off.

Technical Oversight

  • Review shop drawings, submittals, specifications, and engineered plans for construct-ability, coordination, and scope accuracy.
  • Coordinate with client IT and technology stakeholders regarding network requirements, including VLANs, IP addressing, PoE budgets, bandwidth, storage, and VMS requirements.
  • Coordinate system commissioning, functional testing, troubleshooting, and end-user training.
  • Serve as an escalation point for field technicians regarding installation, programming, and project coordination issues.
  • Ensure installed systems meet contract documents, manufacturer requirements, applicable codes, and company quality standards.

Client & Team Leadership

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, architects, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
  • Manage expectations regarding scope, schedule, budget, and project deliverables through proactive communication.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and construction partners.
  • Enforce company safety, quality, and professionalism standards on active jobsites.
  • Mentor lead technicians and support the development of field personnel.
  • Promote accountability and teamwork across project, field, sales, and operations teams.
