Workers Compensation Defense Attorney

This is a remote position.

Location: 100% Remote (California Bar license required; Pacific Time hours)

Compensation: $125,000 – $300,000 base salary + heavy billable performance bonuses

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Case Management: Manage defense cases from initial file opening through trial and appeal.
  
• Case Valuation & Strategy: Evaluate exposure early to provide strategic settlement recommendations or litigation strategies to clients.
  
• Client Relations: Partner closely with insurance adjusters, risk managers, and self-insured employers, maintaining a client-first communication style.
  
• Billable Performance: Achieve a monthly target of 220 billable hours, with lucrative bonus potential for excess hours and new client files.
  
  
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• Licensure: Active California Bar license in good standing (Required).
  
• Experience: 1+ years of legal practice in workers' compensation defense, civil litigation, or insurance defense.
  
• Education: J.D. from an accredited law school.
  
• Core Competencies: Excellent client-facing skills, a conservative and accurate approach to billing, and a track record of stability in past roles.
