ME Medical Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Consultant or Senior Medical Officer (SMO) to join a permanent, full-time team in regional Victoria. This pivotal role is situated approximately 2.5 hours from Melbourne and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact within a dynamic healthcare setting. The position requires candidates to possess valid registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), either as a specialist or with general registration that includes the authority to work in charge. While Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) is highly desirable, it is not a mandatory requirement for consideration.


Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality emergency medical care to patients in a regional hospital environment.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities and clinical decision-making authority as required for the role.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.
  • Manage emergency cases ranging from acute presentations to critical care scenarios.
  • Adhere to all clinical guidelines, protocols, and regulatory standards set by AHPRA and local health authorities.

Requirements

  • Current registration with AHPRA, either as a specialist or general practitioner with the capacity to work in charge.
  • Proven experience in Emergency Medicine practice.
  • Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a regional location, approximately 2.5 hours from Melbourne.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to handle high-pressure emergency situations.
