US Tax Preparer

We are seeking an experienced remote tax preparer to prepare accurate US individual income tax returns. The focus is productivity, sound preparation, and clear communication about missing information and unresolved questions.

Experience and software

• US federal and state individual tax preparation experience, including retiree returns, investment income, brokerage statements, Schedule K-1s, and multiple states.

• Hands-on Drake Tax experience is required. TaxDome experience is strongly preferred, but not required. Drake will be hosted on Verito.

• Ability to work independently, communicate clearly in written English, and use a secure hosted desktop with reliable internet access.

Responsibilities

• Enter client information directly into Drake Tax, or tie out returns with information already entered against the supporting documents.

• Provide a list of missing items or questions for each return.

• Review returns to the point they are ready to be reviewed with client/filed.

There will be no client interaction. All interactions and communications will be with the client.

Productivity and availability

We are flexible about daily hours and PTO if work is accurate productivity is met. There may be times during the year when long hours are expected to meet productivity, and then there may be other times during the year when no work is needed. If productivity falls below company expectations, employment will be terminated.

Holidays will follow the firm’s US holiday schedule.
