Mechanical Engineer

 Design Hire is seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer. This position will focus on the design and development of HVAC, piping, and hydronic systems for commercial and institutional building projects.

 The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical design experience, strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, and the ability to independently support projects from initial design through construction documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC, hydronic, and mechanical piping systems for new construction, renovations, and building improvement projects.
  
• Prepare mechanical drawings, equipment layouts, system schematics, and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
  
• Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing, piping layouts, and mechanical system design calculations.
  
• Coordinate mechanical designs with electrical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams to ensure project requirements are met.
  
• Support project delivery through design reviews, field investigations, construction administration, and coordination with senior engineers and project managers.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred.
  
• 4+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably within an architectural/engineering (A/E) consulting firm.
  
• Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for mechanical design and drafting.
  
• Experience designing HVAC systems for commercial, institutional, or similar building projects.
  
• Working knowledge of hydronic heating and cooling systems, mechanical piping, pumps, and associated equipment.
  
• Ability to perform mechanical calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
  
• Familiarity with applicable building codes, mechanical codes, and industry design standards.
  
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple project responsibilities.
