Scrum Master Intern

Alpine Business Consulting works where finance processes meet technical systems. We focus on EPM and analytics, often stepping in when configurations fail to support the actual needs of a finance team. Currently, we are working with a partner, a major French industrial, to streamline their reporting and consolidation tools. We avoid the theatre of typical large scale implementations, choosing instead to focus on the close process and technical precision. Our goal is always to bridge the gap between complex data and the people who need to use it for decision making.

About the Role
As a Scrum Master Intern, you will support our project teams in maintaining a steady pace and clear communication. In our remote environment, this role is essential for ensuring that tasks move through the pipeline without friction. You will help the team stay focused on delivering fixed-price engagements while maintaining the high standards of documentation required for client self-sufficiency. This is an entry level position designed to give you direct exposure to complex EPM remediation projects and the practical application of Agile principles in a consulting setting. You will be instrumental in helping us move away from implementation theatre and toward technical excellence.

What You Will Do

• Organize and facilitate daily syncs to ensure everyone is aligned on the current tasks and objectives.
• Help track the progress of configuration tasks and data modeling activities for our French industrial partner.
• Maintain project boards in tools like Jira or Azure DevOps, ensuring all tickets reflect the current status accurately.
• Assist in identifying and documenting blockers that prevent the team from completing remediation work.
• Support the creation of administrator training materials to help clients become self-sufficient after the project ends.
• Collaborate with finance consultants to ensure that the definition of done includes the necessary data validation steps.
• Monitor the project timeline to ensure we remain within the scope of our fixed price commitments.
• Help prepare status reports that focus on technical progress and data accuracy rather than vague milestones.

What We Are Looking For

• Basic familiarity with Agile methodologies and a desire to learn how they apply to finance systems consulting.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep multiple threads of work organized in a remote setting.
• A fundamental understanding of finance logic, such as how a chart of accounts or a close process works.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking data and basic reporting.
• Clear, direct communication style that favors facts and technical accuracy over corporate jargon.
• Analytical thinking and a methodical approach to solving problems.
• The ability to work full time during the internship period while maintaining a high level of focus.
• A commitment to precision, ensuring that documentation and project updates are always correct.

• Familiarity with project management software like Jira, Trello, or Azure DevOps.
• Basic knowledge of EPM platforms such as Oracle EPM or SAP BPC.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
