Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager/ Vice President of Software Engineering to lead our growing engineering organization. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge across multiple programming languages and frameworks - including Python, Java, Ruby on Rails, and React - together with a proven record of building and managing high-performing, cross-functional software teams. This leader will drive technical strategy, scale engineering capabilities, strengthen the software delivery lifecycle, and ensure the delivery of robust, secure, and scalable products. The role also requires strong practical AI skills and the ability to responsibly integrate modern AI tools and approaches into engineering workflows, developer productivity, and product capabilities.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow software engineering teams across backend, frontend, data, and platform disciplines, with engineers located in both the United States and India.
• Own technical strategy and oversee the design, development, deployment, and evolution of large-scale distributed systems using Python, Java, Ruby on Rails, React, and related technologies.
• Partner with Product and Design leadership to define roadmap priorities, delivery plans, technical trade-offs, and execution timelines.
• Champion engineering best practices across code quality, architecture, testing, security, observability, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Drive scalable architecture and technical excellence across application, API, data, and cloud domains, with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Establish meaningful KPIs for team effectiveness, engineering velocity, product reliability, platform health, and delivery quality.
• Recruit, onboard, coach, and retain high-caliber engineering talent while building strong leadership depth across the organization.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align technology strategy, investment priorities, and organizational design with business goals.
• Promote effective use of AI across the engineering lifecycle, including AI-assisted coding, testing, code review, documentation, incident analysis, knowledge retrieval, and developer productivity.
• Evaluate and guide the responsible adoption of AI/ML and GenAI capabilities, with appropriate attention to security, data privacy, governance, model quality, and measurable business value.

Required Qualifications

• 10-17 years of progressively responsible software engineering experience, including significant experience leading and managing multiple technical teams.
• Proven experience managing software engineering teams and delivering complex software systems in production environments.
• Strong expertise in software architecture, system design, distributed systems, and scaling applications for high availability and performance.
• Hands-on technical depth sufficient to engage credibly in architecture and design discussions across backend, frontend, data, cloud, and platform engineering.
• Experience implementing agile delivery practices, code reviews, automated testing, DevOps, and CI/CD frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, project timelines, delivery risks, hiring plans, and cross-functional communication at the executive level.
• Strong practical AI fluency, including experience using modern AI developer tools and a solid understanding of how AI can improve software engineering productivity and product capabilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong technical background across backend technologies such as Python, Java, and Ruby on Rails, and frontend technologies such as React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and deployment / DevOps platforms such as Heroku, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD tooling.
• Familiarity with data engineering, machine learning pipelines, API-first architectures, and production-grade data platforms.
• Experience with GenAI / LLM application patterns such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, model evaluation, guardrails, and AI-enabled developer tooling is strongly preferred.
• Experience with graph databases such as Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, or similar technologies.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong presence in the developer community.
• Industry experience in oil and gas, energy, or other asset-intensive sectors, with an understanding of domain-specific

data and operational workflows.
