Job Summary
The Returns Associate will be responsible for testing, grading, and documenting the quality of returned electronic products such as radios, speakers, and amplifiers. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to ensure products meet functional and cosmetic standards before being processed for resale, destruction, or reclamation. The associate will also perform additional warehouse tasks as needed, maintaining an organized and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Testing & Quality Grading:
- Test all returned electronic products (radios, speakers, amplifiers, etc.) for functionality using established checklists and procedures.
- Grade the quality of products based on performance, appearance, and condition.
- Receive and process incoming returned electronics.
- Ensure proper documentation and accurate record-keeping for all returned items.
- Inspect items for visible cosmetic damage prior to shipment.
- Identify defective products and determine the appropriate disposition, including repair, scrap, or return to vendor.
- Properly use warehouse tools (e.g., box cutters, hand tools, adhesives, nails, padding) in compliance with safety standards.
- Assist colleagues in completing their job duties when needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring a safe and efficient testing environment.
- Complete receiving and documentation operations according to company procedures and timelines.
- Properly store and categorize items within established deadlines to maintain organization and efficiency in the warehouse.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall returns process.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Ability to assess product functionality and cosmetic condition accurately.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse tools and equipment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move products, sometimes up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during testing and inspection tasks.
