Position Summary
Healing Hearts Counseling Service (HHCS) provides graduate counseling students with supervised clinical training designed to bridge academic learning with professional counseling practice.
Clinical practicum and internship students have the opportunity to develop competency in client engagement, assessment, treatment planning, clinical documentation, ethical practice, case conceptualization, and evidence-informed counseling interventions while working within a professional outpatient behavioral health setting.
Students may have opportunities to work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, or groups depending upon their academic program requirements, demonstrated competency, supervisor approval, and the needs of the practice.
The placement includes both clinical development and exposure to the professional responsibilities required to function effectively within a behavioral health practice. Students are expected to participate in supervision, required training, documentation, case consultation, and other learning activities established by HHCS and their university.
Clinical responsibilities are assigned progressively based upon the student's training level, demonstrated competency, university requirements, and supervisor approval.
Requirements
Applicants should:
Be currently enrolled in an accredited or appropriately recognized graduate-level counseling or related clinical program that requires practicum/internship experience.
Be academically eligible to begin practicum or internship according to their university.
Provide documentation of the university's placement, supervision, evaluation, and hour requirements.
Be able to complete the required placement period and clinical hours.
Maintain professional liability insurance if required by HHCS, the university, or applicable professional standards.
Successfully complete HHCS onboarding requirements, including required background screening and confidentiality/HIPAA documentation.
Demonstrate professional communication, dependability, ethical judgment, appropriate boundaries, openness to supervision, and willingness to receive and apply feedback.
Complete clinical documentation and other assigned responsibilities within established deadlines.
Maintain confidentiality regarding clients and practice information.
Follow applicable professional ethics, university requirements, HHCS policies, and supervisor direction.
