Location: Los Angeles, CA (0nsite 5 days a week preferred, Hybrid 3 days possible).

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior IBM MQ Administrator / Middleware Engineer to manage, maintain, and support enterprise messaging infrastructure. The role involves IBM MQ administration, secure system integrations, production support, and ensuring reliable communication between critical enterprise applications and external systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain IBM MQ infrastructure, including queue managers, queues, channels, and listeners.
  
• Support secure messaging integrations between internal applications and external systems.
  
• Configure and manage MQ security, TLS/SSL certificates, authentication, and access controls.
  
• Monitor MQ environments and troubleshoot connectivity issues, message failures, and performance bottlenecks.
  
• Implement high availability, disaster recovery, upgrades, and patching.
  
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and integration teams.
  
• Support production incidents, system changes, and integration testing.
  

Required Skills

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in IBM MQ administration in enterprise environments.
  
• Strong knowledge of IBM MQ 9.x, queue managers, channels, clustering, and message queuing concepts.
  
• Experience administering IBM MQ on Linux/Unix; AIX or Windows experience is a plus.
  
• Strong understanding of MQ security, TLS/SSL, certificates, and network connectivity.
  
• Experience with MQ monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and production support.
  
• Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and scripting for automation.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise messaging environments.
  
• Experience with secure external system integrations and enterprise middleware platforms.
  
• Experience in highly regulated or high-availability environments.
  
• Familiarity with IBM MQ client connectivity, JMS, and related messaging technologies.
