Summary
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the strategic evolution of our cloud infrastructure, focusing on the secure transition to containerized environments. This pivotal role is responsible for architecting and executing complex network migrations within AWS, ensuring high availability and robust security postures for Kubernetes workloads. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between traditional networking principles and modern cloud-native technologies, driving efficiency and reliability across our distributed systems while managing a team of engineers in a high-stakes, fast-paced IT services environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure network architectures for Amazon EKS clusters, including the configuration of security groups, Network Access Control Lists (NACLs), and AWS Network Firewall policies.
  
• Manage application load balancing strategies using ALB and NGINX Ingress controllers, ensuring optimal traffic distribution and high availability.
  
• Define and enforce network segmentation and isolation policies through Kubernetes Network Policies and Horizontal Pod Autoscaling (HPA) configurations.
  
• Develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions and Jenkins, integrating policy enforcement tools like Kyverno to ensure compliance.
  
• Engineer scalable connectivity solutions leveraging AWS VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and Site-to-Site VPNs to support hybrid cloud environments.
  
• Optimize routing protocols, NAT gateways, and load balancing mechanisms to enhance network performance and reduce latency.
  
• Write and maintain custom automation scripts in Python or Go to streamline operational tasks and enhance infrastructure management capabilities.
  
• Oversee the end-to-end migration of legacy applications to Kubernetes, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless integration with existing systems.
  

Requirements

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 to 9 years of hands-on experience in network engineering and cloud infrastructure management.
  
• Proven expertise in AWS networking services, specifically VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and security controls.
  
• Deep proficiency in Kubernetes networking, including cluster management, service mesh concepts, and EKS-specific configurations.
  
• Strong background in implementing and managing AWS Network Firewall, Security Groups, and NACLs.
  
• Demonstrated experience with ALB and NGINX Ingress controllers for managing external and internal traffic.
  
• Advanced knowledge of GitOps workflows, including the use of GitHub Actions and Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines.
  
• Familiarity with policy-as-code tools such as Kyverno for enforcing security and compliance standards in containerized environments.
  
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Go for developing automation tools and custom solutions.
  
• Solid understanding of BGP routing, NAT, load balancing, and network segmentation strategies.
  
• Experience working within the IT Services sector, delivering solutions for enterprise clients.
