Onsite Support Engineer

Role Description:

The Onsite Support Engineer will provide hands-on onsite IT support, including end-user support, hardware setup, troubleshooting, and hands-and-feet assistance within the warehouse environment. The engineer will work closely with remote technical teams acting as the primary onsite resource to execute tasks, troubleshoot issues, and provide accurate updates without impacting business operations.

Responsibilities:

Unpack, set up, and relocate approximately PC workstations.
Set up and configure label printers and assist with printer-related troubleshooting.
Provide hands-on troubleshooting and support for RF guns/scanners and other warehouse IT equipment as required.
Perform basic hardware checks, cabling, power, connectivity, and equipment validation.
Follow instructions and troubleshooting guidance provided by the remote teams.
Act as the onsite eyes and hands for the remote support teams, providing real-time updates and executing required physical interventions.
Work with business users and relevant stakeholders to ensure equipment is operational and business activities continue with minimal disruption.
Document completed activities, issues identified, and any outstanding actions for remote team follow-up.

Requirements

Technical Experience & Qualifications:

• 2+ years of hands-on IT support or field service experience.
  
• Experience with PC/workstation installation, relocation, and troubleshooting.
  
• Experience supporting RF guns, handheld scanners, barcode scanners, or similar warehouse devices.
  
• Basic networking and cabling troubleshooting skills.
  
• Familiarity with Windows workstations and common IT peripherals.
  
• Ability to perform hands-on hardware setup and troubleshooting while working under remote guidance.
  
• Good communication, documentation, and escalation skills.
  
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
  
• IT-related qualification or equivalent practical experience preferred.
  
• CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certification is an advantage
