Head of Retail Operations (F&B/Convenience Store)

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Retail Operations to lead and elevate our retail operations function. This role is central to driving a high-performance sales culture, translating business strategy into operational execution, and ensuring consistent, customer-focused service across all retail locations. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who combines commercial acumen with hands-on operational expertise, capable of coaching teams, managing budgets, and staying ahead of market trends to keep the business competitive.
Key Responsibilities:

• Play a hands-on role in shaping a results-driven sales culture by regularly mentoring Operations and Area Managers, spotting areas for growth, and offering practical support when operational issues come up.
  
• Oversee retail operations to ensure full alignment with company policies and procedures, all while placing the customer experience at the center of every decision made.
  
• Lead the rollout of customer-focused sales strategies and ensure business priorities and performance goals are met across the Sales & Operations team.
  
• Bring fresh, innovative thinking to retail planning to stay ahead of the competition, keeping a close eye on evolving market conditions, competitor moves, and emerging trends.
  
• Play an active role in shaping the annual retail budget, building team-wide alignment and support; continuously track financial performance and guide Operations/Area Managers toward accurate, achievable budget forecasts.
  
• Convert high-level business strategy into practical, on-the-ground retail plans designed to hit sales and profitability goals.
  
• Spot critical business issues early and ensure clear, timely communication flows both to senior leadership and down to operational teams.
  
• Drive smart, cost-conscious approaches to stock management; conduct weekly inventory reviews to keep sales performance on track against monthly and overall budget targets.
  
• Take on other operational tasks as needed, based on evolving business needs.
  
• Provide flexible support on additional assignments as directed by senior management.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
  
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in retail operations, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership or multi-site management role.
  
• Proven track record of managing and developing Operations/Area Managers across multiple locations.
  
• Strong understanding of retail sales strategy, budgeting, and P&L management.
  
• Solid grasp of inventory/stock management principles and cost control practices.
  
• Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret financial and sales data.
  
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with senior management and frontline staff alike.
  
• Up-to-date knowledge of retail industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity.
  
• Willingness to travel to various operational sites as required.
  
• High level of integrity, adaptability, and a hands-on, results-driven approach.
