We are currently seeking an experienced
Lead Auto/Telecom Engineer (m/f/d)
Start date: ASAP | Duration: ~ July 2027 | Location: Initially onshore/office-based, followed by offshore rotations in Poland / Offshore | Contract type: Freelance / B2B
You will support an offshore wind project on a freelance basis, focusing on the preparation and execution of automation and telecommunication activities related to the hook-up and commissioning of an Offshore Substation (OSS). The assignment will initially be onshore/office-based before transitioning into offshore rotations.

As part of your role, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate automation and telecommunication activities for OSS hook-up and commissioning according to project plan
- Plan and coordinate commissioning activities, priorities and technical interfaces within the Automation/SCADA/Telecom scope
- Review and revise engineering documentation, work packages, procedures and commissioning requirements
- Coordination of scope with contractors, engineering disciplines and other commissioning teams
- Monitor progress and ensure technical issues, interfaces and outstanding items are followed up and project status reporting to relevant parties
- Provide technical guidance to the Auto/Telecom team and report progress, risks and technical issues to project management
Does your profile meet most of these requirements? We look forward to your application.
- Completed technical education or university degree, e.g. in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or a comparable discipline
- Several years of professional experience with automation and/or telecommunication systems in offshore wind, energy, marine or comparable industrial projects
- Solid experience in commissioning and system completion, ideally involving Offshore Substations (OSS)
- Previous experience in a Lead, Senior Engineer or comparable technical coordination role
- Ability to lead and coordinate small teams (leadership skills)
- Strong knowledge of automation and telecommunication systems; experience with SCADA, ICMS, CCTV, DACS, VSAT, AIS and/or PAGA is advantageous
- Very good English skills
- Confidence in coordinating international contractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong leadership and communication skills combined with a structured, proactive and solution-oriented approach
Certificates:
- Minimum required certificates:
- GWO package (First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling, Sea Survival incl. Boat transfer, Working at Heights) for the offshore phase
- Offshore Medial (NOGEPA, AWMF, UGOK) for the offshore phase
