A UK-based consultancy is currently dealing with interfaces that slow down their daily operations. As a Junior UI Engineer, your task is to identify and resolve the friction points in their internal tools. You will work on the screens where data entry happens, the dashboards that display stalled approvals, and the systems that currently rely on manual workarounds. This role is not about adding decorative elements or chasing design trends. Instead, you will focus on making sure the interface supports the actual work that needs to happen without getting in the user's way. This is a full-time, permanent position that is conducted entirely in a remote capacity.
About Tech Pipeline
We rely on the decision log and weekly written updates to keep everyone informed. Documentation is our primary tool for collaboration, which helps us avoid the daily drag of unnecessary video calls. We take ownership of specific problems, rebuild the routing rules or SOPs that have degraded, and stay until the system is stable. Once the client can run the updated process without our intervention, we move on to the next challenge. We value engineers who are willing to look into the configuration and the logs to find where a process has fallen into chaos.
About Tech Pipeline
- We target the operational drag that prevents companies from moving efficiently.
- We fix broken approval chains, manual reconciliations, and systems that fail to communicate.
- We focus on the gap between the software a company owns and the work their team performs.
- We prefer clear documentation and named ownership over abstract frameworks.
- We stay through the cutover and the first month of live operation to ensure the fix is permanent.
- We value plain English and no-nonsense communication in everything we build.
- We believe the tool the client already owns is usually the best place for a fix.
- Our goal is to remove the daily drag so teams can return to work that matters.
- Review existing UI components to find specific points where users encounter friction.
- Update internal forms and inputs to prevent the entry of stale data.
- Refactor CSS and HTML to better align with updated routing rules and logic.
- Draft simple, functional mockups for new internal tools or dashboard widgets.
- Write clear documentation and runbooks for new interface elements.
- Read system logs to identify where user interactions are triggering errors or slowdowns.
- Support the team during the first month of live operation after a project cutover.
- Assist in consolidating a drifting backlog of UI bugs and navigation issues.
- Ensure all interface changes match the established SOP for the client.
- A basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript.
- Genuine curiosity about how systems break and how users work around them.
- The ability to write technical documentation in plain, accessible English.
- An interest in learning how data flows from the backend to the front end.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma for creating functional layouts.
- A preference for solving concrete, practical problems rather than building abstract ideas.
- Comfort working in a fully remote environment and managing your own tasks.
- Experience with version control tools like Git through university projects or personal work.
- A mindset that values stability and clarity over complexity.
- A fully remote work arrangement that allows you to work from your preferred environment.
- The satisfaction of completing specific projects rather than maintaining endless retainers.
- A professional atmosphere that values technical precision and clear writing.
- A competitive salary that is attractive for an entry-level engineering position.
- Exposure to how enterprise systems and operational workflows actually function.
- A culture that prioritizes deep work and clear documentation over constant meetings.
- The opportunity to see the direct results of your work on a client's daily productivity.
