Reason for Coverage: Long-term permanent search

Practice Setting:

  • Urgent Care Clinic
  • Providers will travel between Brentwood, Mt Lebanon, and Pleasant Hills sites
  • Must be comfortable and willing to:
    • See patients of all ages
    • Perform orthopedic procedures including splinting and wound care
    • Work independently with no supervision
  • Responsibilities include suturing, wound care, I&Ds, splinting, x-rays, EKGs, drawing blood/IVs, etc.
  • Patient visits include cold/flu symptoms, rashes, abrasions, lacerations, sprains, minor burns, splinting, etc.
  • High acuity patients are referred to the local ER
  • Sites are staffed with 1-3 providers per day
  • If Physician is not on-site, they will be remotely available for escalation

Schedule:

  • Monday-Sunday, 8:00a-8:00p
  • Average 3-4 patients per hour
  • Full-time coverage
  • Average 20 shifts per month

Patient Population: All ages

EMR: EPIC

Credentialing: 90 days

Requirements:

  • Active Pennsylvania licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Minimum 2-years Urgent Care or 1-year Emergency Medicine experience or equivalent

Job Responsibilities (Generalized):
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
  • Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly

  • Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
  • Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions
  • Time management skills to efficiently manage a patient workload
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team


Requirements

Education:

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
  • Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Pennsylvania
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
  • Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Pennsylvania
  • National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Experience:

  • While specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty


Benefits

Travel:

Only drive-in candidates are being considered at this time.  Must be within a 2-3 hour radius.

Please note that this position is offered as an independent contractor (1099) role and does not include the typical benefits associated with a W-2 employment, such as health insurance, retirement contributions, or paid time off.
