We are looking for an experienced and QCI-NABET-accredited Functional Area Expert (FAE) in Ecology & Biodiversity. The candidate will lead, supervise, and technically validate ecological and biodiversity components for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP) studies across various industrial and development sectors
Key Responsibilities

i. Basic knowledge of the application of taxonomy in resource inventory (flora and fauna) of the project area

ii. Conducting ecological/wildlife surveys and preparation of status reports for rare, endangered and threatened species of animals and plants and also species protected under national laws

iii. Experience of providing guidance and support for conservation of species and their habitats

iv. Adequate knowledge of EIA legislation process in India

v. Understanding of policies, guidelines and legislations related to ecology biodiversity conservation

vi. Specialized training in the field of impact assessment and ecological monitoring will be an added advantage

vii. Contribution to EIA documentation

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education: Master’s (post graduate) degree in life-sciences like Zoology/ Botany/ Forestry/ Environmental Science/ Ecology/ Natural Resource Management/ Ecology & Environment/ Ecology & Biodiversity/ Geography and the like.
Accreditation: Valid QCI-NABET FAE accreditation in Ecology & Biodiversity (EB) (Category A preferred).
Experience: 3 - 5+ years of hands-on experience in preparing EIA/EMP reports for Category A/B infrastructure, mining, linear, or industrial projects.
Technical Proficiency:
- Strong knowledge of spatial ecology and GIS tools (ArcGIS / QGIS).
- Proven capability in data collection, statistical analysis, and ecological sampling methodologies.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical, technical writing, and team coordination skills.
