Share a Cuppa, a Chat and Some Company

A friendly conversation and shared interests can make all the difference. This volunteer opportunity involves spending time with a lovely client who enjoys the simple pleasures of good company, whether that's chatting over a cuppa or heading out for a relaxing drive.

The client has a creative spirit and enjoys gardening, animals and a variety of craft activities, including knitting, crochet, embroidery, sewing and card-making. Music is an important part of their life, particularly jazz and classical, and they also enjoy watching British television programs on ABC and SBS.

This is a wonderful opportunity to build a genuine connection through regular visits, meaningful conversations and shared interests, while helping to reduce social isolation and brighten someone's day.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Requirements

18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for an hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
