Role Summary
The Accounting Specialist – Regulatory supports the regulatory accounting and financial reporting obligations of Paysafe's regulated Payment Institution in Brazil. Reporting to the Brazil Controller, the role owns COSIF bookkeeping, expected credit loss calculations, Pix and payment account reconciliations, and the preparation and submission of ancillary obligations to the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB). It ensures accurate and timely regulatory submissions, effective financial controls, complete supporting evidence, and readiness for audits and regulatory inspections, working closely with Accounting, Finance, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Risk, Treasury, Tax, Internal Audit, and external auditors.

Role Summary
The Accounting Specialist – Regulatory supports the regulatory accounting and financial reporting obligations of Paysafe's regulated Payment Institution in Brazil. Reporting to the Brazil Controller, the role owns COSIF bookkeeping, expected credit loss calculations, Pix and payment account reconciliations, and the preparation and submission of ancillary obligations to the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB). It ensures accurate and timely regulatory submissions, effective financial controls, complete supporting evidence, and readiness for audits and regulatory inspections, working closely with Accounting, Finance, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Risk, Treasury, Tax, Internal Audit, and external auditors.
Responsibilities
- Perform the daily and monthly bookkeeping of the Payment Institution in accordance with the COSIF chart of accounts and National Financial System accounting standards.
- Classify and measure the institution's financial instruments (amortized cost, fair value through other comprehensive income, and fair value through profit or loss).
- Calculate and record the provision for expected losses (Expected Credit Loss model, Stages 1, 2 and 3) on customer receivables, operating balances, and financial assets, in line with CMN Resolution No. 4,966/2021 and IFRS 9.
- Prepare, validate, and transmit ancillary obligations to the BCB, especially CADOC 4010/4016, 9010/9011, and 4111, as well as information on payment accounts and electronic money balances.
- Perform daily settlement reconciliation for Pix and payment accounts, comparing transactional platform reports with COSIF balances, and identify and correct discrepancies.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and maintain clear audit trails for regulatory and accounting balances.
- Provide reliable accounting bases for the calculation of Regulatory Capital and risk-weighted assets together with the Risk team.
- Support the preparation of audited financial statements, explanatory notes, and regulatory disclosures.
- Support internal and external audits and BCB inspections by preparing working papers, reconciliations, ECL calculation records, and supporting documentation, and by tracking issue follow-up and remediation.
- Coordinate information across departments for regulatory requests, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and traceability.
- Monitor BCB accounting and regulatory updates affecting Payment Institutions, including IFRS convergence, and translate new requirements into processes, controls, and reporting routines.
- Maintain procedures, control documentation, and evidence repositories, and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Requirements
Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; professional registration (CRC) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, audit, regulatory reporting, financial reporting, or a compliance-related function.
- Experience in a regulated financial institution, payment institution, fintech, bank, or comparable environment.
- Experience supporting external audits, statutory audits, or regulatory reviews.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Solid knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards, financial statement preparation, and disclosures.
- Understanding of regulatory reporting frameworks, audit and assurance processes, internal controls, and risk and compliance governance.
- Strong expertise in account reconciliations and balance sheet analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills and practical experience with ERP systems (SAP B1 and Oracle Fusion).
- Professional English for documentation and collaboration in a multinational environment.
