Job Opening: LVN/LPN III

Facility: San Angelo State Supported Living Center

Position: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) III

Pay Rate: $40/hour

Position Type: Contract

Openings: 3

Contract Duration: Minimum of 6 months

Schedule: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM, 5 days per week

Hours: 40 hours per week, no overtime

Shift Type: Rotating schedule, with every third weekend off

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
• Perform nursing procedures in compliance with state regulations and facility standards after competency has been established.
• Monitor individuals' health conditions and document relevant observations and treatments.
• Communicate important clinical information to other healthcare team members.
• Respond to emergencies and follow established safety and infection control procedures.
• Collect specimens for laboratory testing and perform authorized screening tests when requested.
• Provide health education and support individuals in achieving specific health goals.
• Assist with repositioning individuals when necessary to administer treatments.
• Maintain adequate nursing supplies and manage medical records using electronic health record systems or paper charts.
• Follow facility attendance policies, rotating schedules, and other assigned duties.

Requirements

Requirements

• Must hold a valid license to practice as an LVN in Texas or in a state recognized through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Computer proficiency and electronic health record experience preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and psychiatric conditions preferred.
• Ability to follow nursing protocols, facility policies, and infection control standards.
• Willingness to work a rotating schedule, including weekends as required.

Schedule and Contract Details

• Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Workdays: 5 days per week
• Hours: 40 hours per week; no overtime
• Weekend Rotation: Every third weekend off
• Contract Duration: Minimum of 6 months, with exceptions for returning nurses
• Tentative Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Compliance: All required clearances and compliance requirements must be completed before the start date.
• Hiring Timeline: Applications and interviews accepted through November 5, 2026. Hiring decisions may be made on the day of the interview, with immediate hiring possible.
