Chief Operating Officer (COO / Mining / LATAM) - Colombia

We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead mining operations and projects across Latin America, ensuring high standards of safety, productivity, operational efficiency, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee mining operations, ensuring production targets, cost control, and profitability objectives are achieved.
  

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize processes, improve productivity, and reduce operational costs.
  

• Oversee mine planning, mineral processing, maintenance, exploration, and technical services.
  

• Manage expansion, construction, commissioning, and start-up of mining projects.
  

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
  

• Manage operational and capital expenditure budgets (OPEX and CAPEX).
  

• Lead multidisciplinary and international teams, fostering a culture of operational excellence.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Geology, or a related field. Postgraduate degree preferred.
  

• Ideally 20 years of experience in the mining industry, including at least 10 years in senior operational leadership roles.
  

• Experience in mechanized underground mining is essential.
  

• Strong knowledge of mineral processing, mine planning, and operational optimization.
  

• Experience in mining project construction, expansion, commissioning, or start-up.
  

• Demonstrated success managing complex mining operations and international teams.
  

• Proven track record of improving productivity, reducing costs, and increasing profitability.
  

• Advanced English proficiency is required.
