Junior Sous Chef – George, Western Cape

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join a luxury golf resort in George, Western Cape. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to support the kitchen team, contribute to exceptional dining experiences and further develop their skills within a premium hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef with the daily running of the kitchen.
  

• Supervise and support junior kitchen staff to ensure efficient service.
  

• Prepare and present high-quality dishes in line with the resort's culinary standards.
  

• Assist with menu planning, food preparation and special dining requirements.
  

• Maintain excellent food quality, consistency and presentation.
  

• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and health regulations.
  

• Monitor stock levels, minimise wastage and assist with stock control.
  

• Support staff training and maintain a positive, professional kitchen environment.
  

• Ensure the kitchen remains clean, organised and fully operational.
  

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef or in a senior Chef de Partie position within a quality hotel, resort or restaurant.
  

• A relevant culinary qualification would be advantageous.
  

• Strong cooking skills and a sound understanding of kitchen operations.
  

• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational abilities.
  

• A strong focus on food quality, consistency and presentation.
  

• The ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen.
  

• Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  

• A professional attitude, attention to detail and passion for the culinary industry.
  

Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience.
