Compensation: $30.29 - $31.25 per hour

We are seeking a talented Shared Services Accountant Consultant to join our team of nearly 500 employees. This position is responsible for performing routine accounting functions as part of CCSI’s consulting engagements with provider organization across NYS. Related activities include but are not limited to: Journal entries and closing in Quickbooks, grant reporting, accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable processing, bank transactions, adjusting journal entries, as well as reconciliation of related accounts. This position will also play an integral role in the team maintaining and coordinating financial recordkeeper for provider organizations. In this role, you will
- Work collaboratively to manage, record, review and reconcile client’s accounting transactions.
- Review and process clients’ routine accounts payable and accounts receivable accounting entries.
- Process client payroll and associated payroll and benefits journal entries.
- Manage clients’ chart of accounts and cost centers.
- Complete timely and accurate clients account reconciliations and adjusting journal entries for balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare client invoices timely and with a high degree of accuracy. Follows internal workflows to complete review/approval processes.
- Record and reconcile client prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and other liabilities monthly.
- Record client’s cash receipts and general ledger expense/revenue transactions.
- Maintain clients’ accurate fixed asset inventory and depreciation schedules, including any additions and disposals, and recording expense monthly.
- Assist accounting team with timely month and year end close process.
- Complete regular general ledger, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Assist in organization and preparation of annual audit documentation and supporting schedules related to year-end audits, NYS reporting, single audit.
- Maintain customer confidence and safeguard clients by keeping their financial information confidential.
- Possess the ability to take on more complex contracts that require additional critical thinking and decision making.
- Assess needs, resolve problems, or escalate related issues for resolution as appropriate.
- Assist as requested with audits related to (i.e. year-end audit, Consolidated Fiscal Report (CFR), the Single Audit for Federal Funds).
- Provide Month-end closing process to confirm appropriate revenue and expense recognition for clients.
- Communicate with both internal and external customers in a professional manner and has the highest standard of customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent education and work experience (see CCSI's equivalency chart).
- 5+ years of experience in accounting preferred.
- Experience with QuickBooks preferred.
- Experience in not-for-profit organization preferred
