We are recruiting experienced Concrete Placers / Concrete Finishing Construction Technicians for employment opportunities in New Zealand.

The employer is an accredited New Zealand employer, with NZ work visa sponsorship available to suitable candidates who meet the employer's requirements and applicable Immigration New Zealand requirements.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for skilled concrete professionals with strong, hands-on experience in concrete placement, levelling and high-quality finishing work.

Successful candidates should be confident working independently and capable of achieving accurate levels and finishes to tight tolerances.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Candidates should have practical experience in:

• Concrete screeding and raking
• Setting heights using laser levels
• Establishing RLs (Reduced Levels) and FFLs (Finished Floor Levels)
• Accurate height setting and screeding
• Concrete placement and finishing techniques
• Concrete finishing and hand trowelling
• Operating Kelly floats / bull floats
• Operating walk-behind power trowels
• Understanding correct concrete finishing timing and processes
• Formwork setup and checking procedures
• Carrying out quality-control checks
• Achieving accurate and consistent finished surfaces

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 3 years of relevant, verifiable experience in concrete placing and finishing
• Strong practical knowledge of laser level setup and use
• Ability to establish levels and accurately set heights
• Experience working to tight tolerances (±3mm)
• Ability to work independently and achieve high-quality finishing standards
• Good English communication skills
• Ability to meet applicable Immigration New Zealand English-language requirements
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety
• Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a construction team

VERIFIABLE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Applicants must be able to verify their previous concrete placing and finishing experience.

Shortlisted candidates may be required to provide supporting evidence such as:

• Employment certificates
• Employer references
• Payslips
• Employment contracts
• Other acceptable evidence of previous employment and duties
