Position Summary

Dhaka Technologies Limited Company (DTLC) is hiring on behalf of its client, a leading U.S. financial services institution, for a Cloud Senior Architect based in Jersey City, New Jersey. The Cloud Senior Architect owns the design and roadmap for hybrid big data platforms spanning on-premises Hadoop/Cloudera and Microsoft Azure.

The architect establishes reference architectures, security models, and integration patterns for on-premises and cloud components, guides engineering teams, reviews designs, and ensures adherence to governance standards. Close collaboration with project managers and stakeholders is critical to align the architecture with business and regulatory needs.

Compensation

$68 to $73 per hour. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the architecture design and roadmap for hybrid big data platforms across on-premises Hadoop/Cloudera and Azure.
  
• Establish reference architectures, security models, and integration patterns for on-premises and cloud components.
  
• Design hybrid connectivity, networking, identity/RBAC, and secrets and key management for the platform.
  
• Define data governance standards covering catalog and lineage, schema evolution, data quality, retention, and audit.
  
• Design for scalability, performance, reliability, and disaster recovery across batch and streaming workloads.
  
• Apply cost management and FinOps practices to clusters, storage tiers, and scheduling.
  
• Produce standards and blueprint documentation, and lead design reviews with engineering teams.
  
• Plan migrations iteratively through MVPs and incremental component add-ons.
  
• Mentor engineers and partner with project managers on roadmaps and dependencies.
  

Required Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Azure data services (Databricks, Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Event and Message services) and their design patterns.
  
• Prior architecture work in Hadoop/Cloudera (HDFS, Spark, Hive/Impala, Ranger/Sentry), including integration design.
  
• Hybrid connectivity (ExpressRoute/VPN), networking, security hardening, secrets and keys, and identity/RBAC.
  
• Data governance experience: catalog and lineage (e.g., Purview), schema evolution, data quality frameworks, retention, and audit.
  
• Scalability and performance design for batch and stream processing; reliability and disaster recovery across environments.
  
• Cost management and FinOps practices for clusters, storage tiers, and scheduling.
  
• Reference architectures, standards, and blueprint documentation; design review leadership.
  
• Agile mindset: iterative evolution, MVPs, incremental component add-ons, and migration planning.
  
• Strong communication skills to align business, compliance, and engineering, including stakeholder buy-in and presentations.
  
• Ability to mentor engineers and collaborate with project managers on roadmaps and dependencies.
  

Desired Qualifications

• Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Databricks Certified Architect.
  
• Experience with Zero Trust controls and regulated data domains (financial or regulatory reporting).
  
• Familiarity with observability stacks and SRE patterns in data platforms.
  
• Exposure to multi-region disaster recovery and active-active considerations.
  
• Banking or financial services industry experience.
