Health and Safety Advisor - Infrastructure FIFO
About the Employer
Our client is an engineering and construction business working across transport, defence and major infrastructure. It combines project delivery expertise with a focus on collaboration, technical improvement and sustainable outcomes.
The Opportunity
Support project safety leadership and site teams on a two-weeks-on, one-week-off FIFO roster to Karratha. You will improve risk controls, coach work groups and monitor implementation of the integrated health, safety and environmental management system.
Your Responsibilities
- Review risk registers, management plans and work methods with supervisors and delivery teams.
- Coach contractors on safe work statements, permits, inductions, pre-starts and plant checks.
- Coordinate safety training, emergency procedures, competence verification and communications.
- Inspect high-risk activities, equipment and work areas and support health monitoring and fitness-for-work processes.
- Prepare internal and external audits, investigate incidents and near misses, track corrective actions and report safety performance.
- Guide managers through injury management and return-to-work coordination.
Requirements
Skills, Education and Requirements
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety and a current C-class driver’s licence are essential.
- At least two years of relevant industry experience and five years as an HSE practitioner.
- A diploma, advanced diploma or degree in HSE, business or a related discipline is preferred.
- Training and assessment, internal lead auditor and lead ICAM credentials are desirable.
- Capacity to work the specified 2:1 FIFO roster.
