Certified Nursing Assistant – School Health

Adelphi is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide in-person basic health assistance and personal care services to students within a school setting in Wilmington, North Carolina. The CNA will work under the direction of licensed nursing personnel and school administration to assist students with activities of daily living, mobility, personal hygiene, feeding, and other assigned health-related support needs.

Requirements

• Current listing or certification as a North Carolina Nurse Aide, as required for the assignment.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience working with pediatric populations or students with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with activities of daily living, including toileting, mobility, personal hygiene, and feeding.
• Observe students and promptly report changes in condition to the supervising nurse or designated school official.
• Assist with safe positioning, lifting, and transferring of students.
• Provide assigned one-to-one health or personal care support consistent with established plans.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe care environment.
• Follow infection-prevention procedures and universal precautions.
• Document assigned activities and services as required.
• Accompany students during school activities when assigned health or personal care support is required.
• Follow established healthcare plans, emergency action plans, and district procedures.
• Immediately report safety concerns, injuries, medical emergencies, or other significant changes in student condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
