The Executive Governance and Legal Affairs Officer provides high-level strategic, administrative, and coordination support to the Executive Team, Board of Trustees, and Legal Affairs function. The role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and well-coordinated operations of the Executive Office, Board governance processes, and legal support services, while strengthening alignment across leadership levels and organizational priorities.


This position serves as a key enabler of effective executive decision-making and governance by facilitating clear communication, timely information flow, and structured coordination between management, the Board, and legal advisors. The Officer supports the integrity, consistency, and compliance of governance and legal processes, contributing to sound organizational oversight and risk management.


Acting as a trusted partner to the Executive Team, the Board, and Legal Affairs, the position holder manages executive and governance priorities, supports Board and committee processes, and coordinates legal and compliance-related activities. The role ensures that executive actions, Board decisions, and legal requirements are seamlessly integrated into day-to-day operations, enabling the organization to function efficiently, transparently, and in line with its mandate and regulatory obligations.



Requirements

Essential skills, knowledge or experience

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience providing executive-level administrative support to senior leaders (CEO, C-suite, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in organizational transformation, change management, or project coordination.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft, review, and edit high-level correspondence and reports.
  • Demonstrated discretion and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and digital collaboration tools (e.g., MS Teams, SharePoint, Google Workspace, or equivalent).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in meeting and event coordination, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and follow-up tracking.


Desirable skills, knowledge or experience

  • Experience working in a corporate governance or board support function, assisting with board meetings, minutes, and compliance documentation.
  • Exposure to or certification in change management frameworks.
  • Experience in organizational development, process improvement, or transformation projects.
  • Familiarity with strategic planning, KPI tracking, or business performance management systems.
  • Background in project management or experience supporting cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of corporate communication and stakeholder engagement principles.


Required education and qualifications (certifications, licenses, accreditations, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • No specific licenses required, but continuous professional development in executive support, leadership, or transformation management is encouraged.
