Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Full-Time

The Staff Pad is proud to partner with a respected healthcare organization in Helena, MT and we are seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide compassionate emergency care, support Emergency Department operations, and ensure safe and efficient patient transport.

The EMT provides emergency medical care and basic patient management under the direction of medical control, Paramedics, Registered Nurses, and Emergency Department Physicians. This role supports both EMS operations and hospital-based patient care while helping maintain readiness for emergency response.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and provide basic care to patients experiencing medical, trauma, and environmental emergencies
  
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and safely transport patients to appropriate facilities
  
• Provide patient care within the EMT scope of practice and under appropriate clinical supervision
  
• Support patient care and workflow in the Emergency Department and other nursing departments
  
• Obtain vital signs, perform EKGs, insert IVs, and collect specimens as trained and permitted
  
• Assist with patient transfers, room preparation, cleaning, rounding, and direct patient observation
  
• Enter and maintain accurate patient information and medical documentation
  
• Maintain ambulances, equipment, and supplies in safe and operational condition
  
• Ensure ambulances are ready for the next call and complete required reports before shift end
  
• Follow hospital, department, state, and federal policies and procedures
  
• Precept, mentor, and supervise students and new staff as assigned
  
• Attend required staff meetings, trainings, competencies, and educational opportunities
  
• Support additional patient care and departmental needs as directed by leadership
  

What We're Looking For

Education, Experience and Certifications

• High school diploma, HiSET, or GED equivalent
  
• Successful completion of a DOT-approved Emergency Medical Technician-Basic course
  
• At least 1 year of EMS or related practical experience preferred
  
• Current Montana EMT license required
  
• Current BLS certification required
  
• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification preferred
  
• Current unrestricted Montana driver's license and excellent driving record required
  
• EVOC certification within 1 year of employment
  
• Completed EMT endorsement courses preferred

PRN staff must attend all mandatory trainings and meetings and work a minimum of 3 shifts per 6-week schedule.
