Expert Data Governance Advisor- GC1691-09

Overview:

• The client is looking for an advisor to help its data governance team move from intent to operations: its practices and frameworks partly exist and now need to be deployed, documented and embedded across the organization.
  
• The role covers data quality, protection, value creation and lifecycle.
  
• A large part of the mandate is about change support: helping business units, IT teams and the stewardship network take ownership of the owner, delegate and steward roles.
  
• The qualifications accept several backgrounds (data management, quality, compliance, business intelligence, organizational transformation), but concrete contribution to implementing governance practices is what separates candidates.
  
• The mandate is enterprise-wide, even though the team reports to an EVP focused on strategy, customer experience and marketing.
  
• Candidate sought : someone who has already helped build or operationalize a data governance program (roles, frameworks, glossaries or catalogs, quality) and has written its reference deliverables. They can explain these concepts to both business and technical stakeholders and exercise influential leadership in a transformation context. Experience in insurance, financial services or with Law 25 is the main differentiator among the assets.
  

Requirements

Required:

• Experience in at least one of: data governance, management, quality or protection, compliance, business intelligence, organizational transformation
  
• Contribution to implementing or operationalizing data governance practices, processes, frameworks or models
  
• Understanding of governance roles (owners, delegates, stewards, IT teams)
  
• Production of structuring deliverables (frameworks, reference documents, guides, presentations, procedures)
  
• Communication, simplification and synthesis with business and technology stakeholders
  
• Project mode, multidisciplinary and evolving environment
  
• Autonomy, rigour, judgment, collaboration, organization
  

Desired:

• Understanding of key governance components (frameworks, quality, privacy, lifecycle, information assets, business glossaries, data catalogs, operating models)
  
• Supporting business and IT teams in adopting practices, stakeholder management, influential leadership in transformation
  
• Experience in a complex, regulated or financial corporate environment
  

Asset:

• Knowledge of insurance, financial services, regulatory compliance or Law 25 (described by the client as a "significant asset")
  
• Knowledge of governance or data management frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM or other recognized framework)
