Pine Media is a Sheffield-based full-fibre ISP. We build and run our own FTTP network, using Openreach ducts and poles alongside our own infrastructure, and we serve homes and businesses across South Yorkshire.

The role

We're looking for an experienced L2C engineer to join our Service Delivery team. This role suits someone who can take a day's work, plan it, get it done to a high standard and close it off properly without being chased.

You'll be the person our customers meet at the most important point of their order: the install. How you turn up, communicate and leave their home is how they judge us. We need someone calm, reliable and professional who takes pride in doing the job right first time, every time.

Our network uses connectorised block terminals (CBTs), so there's no splicing at height or in chambers. Splicing happens only inside the customer splice point (CSP) at the premises.

What you'll do

• Install overhead and underground drops from the CBT to an external CSP
  
• Run internal cable from the CSP to the customer's chosen ONT location
  
• Splice the drop to the internal cable inside the CSP, and test at each stage
  
• Follow Openreach labelling requirements at entry and exit points, and photograph your work for job records
  
• Manage your own daily workload, keep to appointment times, and flag issues early, before they become problems
  
• Submit accurate, complete job reports
  
• Look after your van and tools in line with our vehicle policy
  
• From time to time, support our Fibre Network Delivery (FND) team with overhead cabling, CBT installs and new fibre in MDUs and across the outside plant network

Requirements

• At least two years' experience in a similar L2C role
  
• Full UK driving licence, held for at least 12 months
  
• Valid NRSWA street works Operative Unit 2 card
  
• SA001 Overhead Safety
  
• S008 PIA Overhead Cable Installation (or equivalent)
  
• Physically fit for manual handling work
  

Desirable

• Fusion splicing experience
  
• Experience working on the Openreach network
  

Package

• £32,000–£36,000 depending on experience, plus performance bonus
