European Cybersecurity Director

We are conducting a confidential search for a European Cybersecurity Director to lead cybersecurity strategy across a multi-country European footprint from a Dublin base, working hybrid. Dublin hosts the European headquarters of numerous multinationals, and this is a director-level role for a security leader who can operate across jurisdictions, regulators, and data protection regimes.

In this role, you will own the European cybersecurity strategy spanning threat detection, incident response, and security architecture across multiple country entities, and lead the organisation's NIS2 and GDPR-aligned security compliance programme. You will direct SOC operations and incident response coordination across European sites, manage relationships with national CSIRTs and data protection authorities including the Irish DPC, and oversee third-party and supply chain risk assessment for European vendors and processors.

You will build and lead a distributed team of security engineers and analysts, drive adoption of zero-trust architecture and cloud security controls across European infrastructure, and report risk posture and incident trends to the executive committee and audit committee. You will also lead breach notification processes under GDPR Article 33/34 and coordinate cross-border regulatory engagement.

Nice to Have:

• Experience coordinating incident response across multiple EU jurisdictions
• Direct engagement with the Irish DPC or another EU data protection authority
• Background implementing NIS2 compliance programmes
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, or equivalent)
• Experience securing a multinational, multi-entity corporate structure
