Our client is a family office alternative investments platform based in Italy. They are seeking a General Manager to support ownership in the strategic and operational management of two wineries in their asset portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving organizational growth, coordinating the various business functions, and contributing to the group's evolution through business development, process optimization, and talent enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to the definition of the company strategy and support its operational implementation.
• Lead business development in domestic and international markets, identifying new growth opportunities while consolidating existing ones.
• Define distribution strategies and brand positioning across target markets.
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with importers, distributors, key customers, and strategic partners.
• Support ownership in evaluating new investments, acquisitions, and development initiatives.
• Coordinate different business functions, ensuring alignment between strategic, operational, and commercial objectives.
• Optimize processes, organizational structure, and governance models to support future growth.
• Participate in the selection and development of key personnel required to strengthen the organization.
• Monitor financial, economic, and operational performance, assuming full responsibility for P&L; and assigned targets.
• Promote international expansion with a focus on high-potential markets.
Candidate Profile
• At least 15 years of experience in General Management, Executive Management, or Commercial Director roles within the wine industry or premium international business environments.
• In-depth knowledge of international commercial and distribution market dynamics.
• Proven track record in international business development and management of complex distribution networks.
• Ability to operate in entrepreneurial environments characterized by growth, transformation, and organizational development.
• Solid experience in budget management and direct P&L; responsibility.
• Strong results orientation, decision-making skills, and strategic vision.
• Proven leadership capabilities and ability to build high-performing teams and drive change.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ownership, partners, and international stakeholders.
• Availability to travel in Italy and abroad.
• Knowledge of Asian markets will be considered a strong asset.
